has anyone tried putting a musicmaster pickguard over a bronco? It looks like the routes would line up but I haven't had one in my posession to check for myself.

I have a 78 musicmaster bass, but I would love to grab one of these to turn into a modified musicmaster thing, with a better bridge, and maybe a hammon darkstar pickup!

amazing! sorry, I should have searched!

Although thats great to know. Sheesh, if they had non-maple necks on those things I would probably mod it and never play my original.

Must say I love these squier projects

yeah, i thoroughly despise maple, but couldn't resist the project. now i'm in a totally different position in life, and haven't had the time to complete it.

going to be ordering the bridge soon (4 saddle string through), and hoping to have it completed by the end of 2015.

its probably really weird to say this, but the main reason i dislike maple is because I feel like it looks cheaper. For some reason, since there is no added fretboard it just seems skimped on, even if that isn't really the case.

also I had a tele that was maple, and it always seemed more sticky than my rosewood counterparts.

Not to mention I just prefer dark woods.

I have a black bronco with black mm pickguard. It fits fine, covers all the routing in the body and the pickup is in the same position. The only small problem is in one spot the pickup routing lies under one of the screw holes on the musicmaster guard, so you cant screw it down. Makes no difference though lol

I will get round to this eventually! I'm not to bothered about the holes at the moment though.

Here it is next to it's sister the Jaguar:

I tried to make a pickguard template for the Jag with the intention to try to make a 3 ply white guard for it but my router died.

That's a sweet conversion, Dan! I dig the black on black a lot. Do you have any more pictures? I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing. If you're ever thinking of selling it and I haven't done it yet, I'd certainly be interested.

I will get some more photos tonight. I've been playing it loads recently, its small size and weight makes it great for just carrying around the house. I was sittin infront of the tv just doodling around on it :)

hah. I don't know if I am either to be honest. I found it in a pile of stuff in my room and just put it on for no real reason. It will probably come off soon.
