Getting there slowly, should make some more progress soon

Classy. The paint colour suits the design.

I've started with assembling the electrics, pickups and stuff.

I'm using a grubby old DiMarzio humbucker. Not sure exactly how old it is, but has gone very brown.
It was previously in my Bronco, the woman I bought that from told me she got it in 1978 with the humbucker already installed.
So I'm assuming it to be pre '78.
I have tested the DCR at about 6.7k. (is that PAF spec?)
I'm gonna hide it in a robroe cover though.





Neck pickup is a brand new Japanese Mustang item.
I've also got a weirdly placed toggle switch and 500k pots.

I don't think I'll be keeping the white knobs, probably use Mustang knobs.

I'm gonna have to get some screws for the pickguard and a tone cap, so can't do much more til I get them.

Yeah, you can use a roundover bit. Make sure you sand the sides nice and smooth before you start.
Also, consider the radius of the roundover 3/8 inch wouldn't really be suitable for a telecaster.
1/4 inch might still be a bit too soft for the 'period-correct' brigade.

If you wanted a slightly sharper edge than the roundover you have.
Depending on tooling and/or skill you could soften the edge with a roundover or bevel cutter but not use the full depth of cut.
Then finish blending in by hand, with a sanding block or a file.

Or just do it all by hand?

In a moment of stupidity, I went on my favourite guitar parts to order the screws I need.
(I did order other parts, but I'll keep that under my hat until I do anything interesting with them!)

Anyway, I'm gonna get the wiring done.
I would like some advise.

I'm planning on having 2 volumes (no tone) and a toggle.
I have no problems wiring it in at all.

But I want to run the pickups permanently out of phase.

I rarely use more than 1 pickup at a time, when I do it's normally out of phase (Jagstang)

I almost never use tone controls.

Is this a bad idea?

Tested, switch and pots work as I want them.
Though not entirely sure if they are out of phase?




Oh, I'm gonna have to enlarge the routes to accomadate all them wires!
I have a pot of that shielding paint to slap all around the insides anyway.

and put heat shrink in that shizzle

Looks great. I used that shielding paint from stew mac on my Jagmaster with Lindy Fralin Jazzmaster pups. I was very happy with the results.
