I favour the Ernie Ball style strap; I've got a few ones of that type from Highly Strung, plus a Gibson LIGHTNING BOLT:

+1 Thanks.
Yep, they're lovely, but expensive as all get out here in the UK, unfortunately.
Oi. I bought a few perhaps 3-4 years ago and they still look brand new! I should've bought some @ NAMM, they were going for at least $25!
Let me know when both of your birthday approaches and we'll see what we can do

You're far too kind, Roach - ta.
James, that was about the price I saw them at (I was going to buy straight from Couch themselves), just balked at it a bit.
Kim - where are those suede ones from? I like the look of those a lot. Also love the skinny strap on your bass.
Can I also add that I am a big exponent of Grolsch grommet straplocks? Although strictly speaking benecolfans, the ones I use are actually from bottles of Bernard Dunkelbier. I find they don't cut my treble so much.
I also give it two more pages before this turns into s string gauge thread.

I use DSL straps. I have a couple of leather ones one of which is padded as I'm starting to get on a bit and I like my comfort

benecol the suede ones are made by fender but i had to google long to find them so maybe they don't make them anymore ? i bought them four/five years ago or so at a local guitarshop. i liked the color it matched the sonic blue but then i thought it looked too barbie so i dyed it, i like how it's grey now.

i think i had a set of those ace frehley strings once. my mate his a hardcore kiss fan and he brought a gibson ace frehley model and the accessories, then tried to learn how to play.

That's probably how those 'Merkins pronounce it: Gabson Less Paul.

I just use them Fender ones because I'm a fanboy. I have one coordinated with my Jag (brown and yellow) and one for my P-Bass (blue/grey)

I buy ones with patterns on, and that's the only reason they get bought basically. I have a psychedelic swirly one, a camouflage one, a checkered one and one with spider-webs on.

No 1 Stretch Strap. Looks like Thomann don't have them in stock (apart from XXL) anymore...theres a dude in the USA who got an 80s one on ebay for $95 because Buckethead uses em. Cost me about 7 euro fromT homann.de. They not the swishest looking but feels good man.

I mostly use selfmade straps made from carbelts. You can choose your own length and can put on pins

On my Casino I have

Just with a Gretsch logo, its quite comfortable and stays in position pretty well.
On my acoustic I have an Planet Waves strap with kind of paisley'ish design..
Those Couch straps are really nice, the ones that are made from Mercedes seats those have classss.

I can't wait until I'm comfortable enough to play it lower so I don't look like such a tool. All my guitar idols always sling it like crotch level, I wear it across my belly button pretty much.
Why? Just hang it at the height where it feels most comfortable to you. It'll help your playing. Don't get so hung up about what "looks rock & roll." If you sling it too low, your left wrist ends up getting kinked at an awkward angle, and with time, you risk getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Besides, it's kind of tough to play licks other than 3 chord punk rock, and sloppy Jimmy Paige stuff, with a guitar hung down by your waist, and your left wrist bent at an awkward angle. I wish guitarists weren't so image conscious.

I have the Levys version of that in both red and black (the leather ends are also in white, though). I use the red one for the Batwing and the black one used to go on the Dano (BECAUSE IT'S BLACK, DUH) but I've since taken it off that one and use it exclusively for my Nu-Sonic now.

I'm a big fan of the old Ace straps.
I'm sure that the huge 3" leather straps are comfortable, but they don't feel right to me.
