This is next level creative. Those security screws are an inspired choice - they actully add to the aesthetic rather than just being there to stop shit falling off

oh well, it would have been cool to be able to cut a strat into a tele. Makes sense that that wasn't the case.

I love your projects, I really really do. Everything from the skin guarded Jagmaster/Jag, the Petrified Mustang and Hollow Body, and now this, everything is absolutely amazing.

That's fucking genius. I never thought of it that way.

I took a few photos of myself with the guitar in the style of 1930s Grand Prix portraits.

While I was at it, I went ahead and recreated four famous driver portraits which can be viewed here (so I don't flood the thread with large pictures): http://mikecohagen.com/mikecohagen/sa.html.

This is incredibly impressive. I actually had a very similar idea recently, though I couldn't have executed it as well as you did. One question, how did you manage to get the headstock covered in aluminum? I imagine it'd be pretty difficult to pre-bend a piece that shape, and finding a glue strong enough to bind the wood to the metal seems difficult as well...

Thank you. I just bent it by hand, over a piece of PVC pipe; I believe. I used a basic polyurethane glue (Elmers Ultimate), which is incredibly durable if used properly.

How did you finish it off without having any sharp surfaces? Sheet metal can be lethal on fingertips- just ask Tony Iommi!

Well, it's fairly thick aluminium. But, all of the edges are somewhat smooth from a lot filing and sanding.
