nah, not yet. what speaker did you opt for in the end, again? i should really think about the tone circuit mod, seeing as it's pretty useless as is. need to get that fuse fitted too... and fit a strap of wood across the back to stop the toobs getting smashed in the back of the van... and get the caps changed...
I fitted a Celestion Century Vintage (one of those with neodynium magnets, so it's very light) I think they're rated at 60 watts. The Harvard tone circuit is a definate improvement. I do worry about the tubes though. I lie the amps on their backs in the car though, so they're safe enough travelling.
yeah, i think i'll screw in a strap of MDF to prevent tube smashage, i had the amp in the back of a cab once and the driver went haring round a corner and i found myself picking the bloody things off the floor. i'll look into those mods and a new speaker when i've got a bit of cash, i think a few tweaks would get it doing what i want it to do (i.e. just a shade more projection/headroom).

After reading through this and researching options, i have decided an orang tiny terror and 2x12 would probably give me what im looking for. However, my friend recommended a Marshall 5 through a cabinet, but after looking at pictures of it, the only jack output i can see is headphones.

Would this work?

The Tiny Terror whilst being pretty loud when overdriven doesn't provide a lot of clean volume, just something to think about if you plan to use pedals or want clean tones.

The Marshall 5 will give you less clean headroom than the TT, so it depends entirely on how loud your band is and how much of a clean sound you want.
I used my TT at practice a couple of times and it was fine - won't give you sparkly cleans, but does a good enough job and sounds great overdriven.
I don't know what cab you are thinking of getting but I can recommend the Orange 2x12 Open Back, I use one and it won't break your back like the closed back. Both should fit in your budget.
