Squier version of the Billy Corgan Strat

Stop being so fucking defensive. Are you saying that these aren't actual differences between the two guitars? You don't have to go to a shop to play one to see the differences. These are facts.

Personally, I think these guitars look great. I'd much rather have a two-point tremolo than a stop tail piece.

i dont know why evryone talks about corgan strat when i was talking about a sqiuer hot rail strat in this thread.

Most people think that this guitar is very similar to the Billy Corgan Strat. Some people were talking about the differences. They can do this if they want.

Yeah, I can see that. Except for the pickups. It's sort of like a 'best bits' of the Billy Corgan and the Richie Blackmore for me. I like tremolos and I like humbuckers. This looks pretty good. Plus, it doesn't have someone else's name on the headstock, plus it's a lot cheaper. It looks like a good deal.

Unlikely. If I buy a strat it'll be the 50's CV strat. Plus, I already have one of these for my heavy rock needs:

I have to agree with Paul on this. I would much rather read reviews on the internet to get some foothold and a general idea on an instrument before trying it out. My local shops don't really get a lot of the new Squier stuff, so trying one isn't really an option. Plus, if you don't really like what it has to offer, wouldn't it be easier to buy a guitar that is similar and does have what you offer(ie. Classic Vibe, VM, etc.)?

Its all preference, some people like humbuckers in a strat, some don't. Thats life, but, I don't think it warrants going defensive and criticizing what people think because it is a different opinion than your own.

Ah i cant see the pic but judging by the link...is it an ibanez prestige? I tried out of those out by didn't like the thin flat neck. Ever try out a Charvel/Jackson? They make some very fine instruments.

It's a Westone Prestige 117 from the Matsumoko factory. The neck is pretty chunky like a Les Paul, with a good flat fingerboard. I've been trying to get a trem arm for it for ages. The guy who owns that site used to sell them, but doesn't anymore. I emailed him and he never got back to me about it. Ah well.

That's pretty cool, Paul. My brother has a Westone 227 as well as a cheaper strat-style budget model with two hums and a floyd rose.

This 'uns my girlfriend's, although she doesn't play. We hadn't being going out that long and she mentioned that her uncle had given her a guitar, and that it was a "west" something or other. I thought it'd be a Westfield Strat. Then she showed me this, and I told her I'd fix it up for her with strings and such. All the while I was looking at her thinking "hmmmm, I can see you're a keeper."
