I have never seen or heard of this mustang
also silversun pickups use a jag as a backup. His guitar cut out during panic switch and he had to set the Sheraton aside after ten minutes of trying to fix the wireless. An horse uses mustangs, but they aren't famous either and I don't think silversun pickups are either. Short scales seem to be more prominent in non-mainstream bands, at least in my experience...

umm... yes talking heads was one of the 1st that came to mind. i've got some pics where they're all using duo sonics / mustangs and a mustang bass.
the straight guy from junior senior uses a duo sonic as well.
and yes of course liz phair.
elliot smith can be seen playing a mustang in one of his cd's.
hendrix was a duo sonic player too, before he got big. and he played a jag too... there's that pic of him with the blue upside-down jag, which eventually became the inspiration for the super-sonic. but hendrix played pretty much anything.
and of course, red fang use the hacktest-up mustang ever! and get the special mention of COOLEST VIDEOCLIP EVER!!!!!!!!!

Love that Stang .
Duo's:
* David Byrne - of Talking Heads early in his career
* Jimi Hendrix - played a Duo-Sonic when he backed up The Isley Brothers in the early 1960s and was known as Jimmy James, also in the studio in the mid-1960s, and while gigging with Curtis Knight & the Squires (New York, late 1965)
* John McLaughlin - before switching to a Gibson doubleneck in 1971
* Johnny Winter - used a modified Duo-Sonic during the late 1960s and early 1970s, on his first few albums
* Thurston Moore - of Sonic Youth used a modified Duo-Sonic with a middle pickup added
* Liz Phair - one of her main guitars is a now-faded white '60s Duo-Sonic
* Patti Smith - plays a Duo-Sonic and has featured her guitar in song lyrics, for example in "Radio Ethiopia/Abyssinia" from the Radio Ethiopia LP.
* Richard Lloyd and Tom Verlaine of Television.
* Rory Gallagher - used a Duosonic guitar with MusicMaster neck that was tuned up one step circa 1982.
* John Oates - of Hall & Oates can be seen playing a red Duo-Sonic in the music video for Private Eyes.

Tim Mahoney def. doesn't play shortscale. He's known for PRS Custom 24s almost exclusively. If he does bust out an extra guitar, its usually his Gibson Les Paul Custom copy from Japan. If he's rocked a shortscale, it must have been a one-off thing or for one exclusive song. He's renown for his PRS affinity.
*David Byrne of TALKING HEADS
*the dude from Fine Young Cannibals, check out the video for "She Drives Me Crazy" (pink Stang!)
*pretty sure the dude from FANTOMAS
*Graham Coxon from BLUR
