Until someone can show the bass to me in a shop (IRL/INTARWEBZ) I do not believe it is for real.

So you don't believe me ? It was a work email direct from Fender... I work in a guitar shop.
The price could come down... when it gets slashed by all retailers known to man. Perhaps closer to £400... my manager did a few clicks on his calculator and said it'd be around for £450. It's not a definite, but the guitar definitely is !!!
EDIT: Also, all Fender prices are set to go up a fair bit soon !!!

Offset wrote them an email... reply....
Hello Josh, [my name is josh]
Thanks for writing in. Yes, there will be a Squier Jaguar Bass coming later on this year. However, I don’t have any details available at this time. When the details become available, they will be posted at www.squierguitars.com. We appreciate your interest, and thanks again for writing in.
Best Regards,
Jeff Krause

Where's the doubt in believing it's real, I don't get it ? It's not that way out there. Also don't see much to dislike 'cept maybe that suggested price.

There's just some part in me that cannot believe Squier would make it. Still, it definitely would be "different" from the rest of the Squier line.
So yes, I believe you, but I have a lingering doubt.

The reason why it seems fake is the picture. I still believe that even if it is real, it won't look like that picture. The picture was made to be deceptive. It is photoshopped and made to look like the Squier website even though it was not designed for the website. The fact is, someone was obviously trying to trick people with it. Or so it would seem that way. If Squier is offering so little info about the product they wouldn't release a photoshopped picture so everyone knows what it will look like.
Hopefully, they are releasing a Jaguar bass but one that doesn't look as stupid as that one.

In case anyone still cares about this abomination, I saw this at Elderly.com today:
SQUIER® VINTAGE MODIFIED SERIES JAGUAR BASS

I think it looks pretty cool, and based on squier's recent record I'm sure it'd be a quality instrument, depending on the price.

Awesome, I believe that it's real, and I hope I have some extra cash when they come out! I figured it would be part of the vintage modified series.

$300 is a fair bit less than what i was expecting! Although it makes sense.
At $450 or more you figure "well i'll just get the Fender Jaguar bass"
$350 and you're into the Classic Vibe range without the amazing quality. [Most of the VM Squiers i've played weren't so hot, especially compared to the CV]
$300 seems about right, not too low that they won't make a decent amount of margin but not too high that people won't buy them or go another route.

are they ever going to get rid of those stupid fucking OBEY guitars ?
no one wants that shit
but they will fucking discontinue good ideas like Vista series and the 51 in only a year or two.
those ugly fucking OBEY modes have been around for the last 5 or 6 years

Rob, I don't think that you account for any of the douchebag Bros that wear tapout and affliction shirts, get tribal armband tattoos, watch ufc and drink busch light or beast ice that no one on this board hangs out with. Those are the people that buy obey guitars.

You have accurately described most of the tools at the local bars here.
