Albini has really had that same sound since Big Black and he didn't use aluminum neck guitars back then. He had a double cut tele in those days. I think all you really get out of an aluminum neck is retarded awesome sustain and maybe a bit brighter attack.

Oh fair 'nuff, I tried to research whether it was TBs or EGCs (for Isis), but couldnt find anything definitive in my 2 mins of netsearch. I did see a post saying that Albini still uses his TB live though because it feels more comfortable to him than the EGC. I'm sure in reality he uses both.

Yeah, I've only seen a handful of photos of him playing with the EGC.

But then, they don't play that often anyway... :D

All the guys in ISIS have an EGC. When I saw them, Aaron exclusivly used his tele shaped one. The guy on keys pulled out an SG shaped one at one point, the other guitarist used a Les Paul, and switched to his Electrical Standard when they did Celestial (The Tower) for the Encore.
