Give it a try! It does not take any special talent, anybody can do the stripes. I did comp stripes on my Mustang bass using only spray cans and masking tape. My paint booth was my apartment's balcony and my work bench was my dining room table. There's a thread somewhere in the Projects section where Rodvonbon shows how he did the competion stripe for Pacafeliz's Mustang refinish, that's where I gained the how-to knowledge from.

I'm still debating comp stripes. I don't know if I could do the stripes with paint or not - I fear the paint lines would be less than crisp, no matter how well I tried to mask... but I may try it eventually. I may try vinyl stripes first to see what I think about how they'd look.
