Why not use black strat knobs though?
Those would look tons better, and it would probably be cheaper for Fender since there's probably warehouses full of them.

but then it wouldn't look as much like an epiphone.

I can't say I hate it except for that overbearing pick guard. I noticed they angled the bridge compared to when it was a Stratosonic. I'd like to know if there's routes fore a second pickup and if it's a chambered body. Probably not. Less work to make, More money to get.

You can see the neck pickup route through the shady assed guard.
Fender are pretty much a joke company to me these days. An unfunny one at that.

I would rather see a well thought out and designed guitar then some mish-mash they threw together with leftovers.

The trans green is V. Nice but maybe needs black pickguard. Also plugged hole: ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS FENDER???? FUCKING DOWLING AND SOLID PAINT WAS INVENTED FOR THESE THINGS AND THESE THINGS SHOULDN'T EVEN HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Again it looks like actual bonar-fied protential completely fucked up at the last hurdle. I blame George Lucas for this one again

So since these are clearly made from leftover parts I am guessing they will be quite limited in number. Perhaps that is why they are asking so much? Was this announced as a limited edition or special edition guitar? If it is, and they sell badly, I can see some kid picking one up in a pawn shop some day and writing a hit song with one and then everyone asking about that strange guitar he is playing and wanting one. Then come the reissue or the signature model rattlecan junior.

Yup, They call it a Special run-FSR (Fender Special Run) RATTLECAN JUNIOR . Still can't get over that name.
Wait a minute, isn't "special" the politically correct name used today for the mentaly handicapped?
