My Jim Button mystery strat that I've posted before.

Burns have discontinued the Batwing, and also the Nu-Sonic, which was the telecaster option in the "Player" series that the Cobra belongs to (it was just those two guitars, so-called as they're made in China) and they've been busily upgrading the existing models. The Marquee and Bison are still the flagship Club series models, but the Marquee now comes in a few extra models sporting Tri-Sonics while the Bison has an upgraded bridge, tuners and comes in slightly different colours to the earlier models. This has also led to a slight increase in prices, too. The Bison formerly cost around £350, but is now averaging out at £450. Also, the Cobra has different Tri-Sonics now; they've been shrunk to regular single-coil size but apparently sound the same. The Burns Barracuda baritone has made a return, sporting two different models; regular string-through body and a "deluxe" version with the over-engineered trem that comes on the trillion+ Hank Marvin models they produce in the custom shop.

They make some pretty guitars

I tried one of them out at GAK and really wasn't impressed. The neck is way too wide, even for a 12 string; the body is also REALLY big and together made the whole thing seem unwieldy. Plugging it in sounded a bit dull but that might be because they stuck me on a Marshall. I would avoid it to be honest. However, to stick it on a wall is a completely different thing.

that was what I was planning to do until I saw the white one, all my other guitars are either black or sunburst so I thought I'd go for something different.

The BCR sale money was burning a hole. GAK dont have white or black though (iMuso only have 'guards red') so i've gone with kurdtz blue. Cant wait to try them pups out...

Nice one! They're alot of guitar for the money, I played quite a few guitars in my strat quest and this thing put all the Squires and most of the Fenders I played in the shade. the combination of the tri-sonics, the extra pickup configurations and just looking that bit different won me over

Years ago I was really close to getting a Marquee, I really wanted a white one with maple board, but could only find red and maple or white and rosewood, so left it. Maybe shouldn't have.

Ooh well done Fran - I had a Marquee years ago and loved it - would have one again at the drop of a hat (if it wasn't for the poxy gold hardware). The trem especially was lovely - not sure how it works now that Point technologies stopped them using the pukka ones (or something), but mine was great. Switching system was clever too. It's a Bison I hanker after most, though.

I think Burns are basically impossible to get in Canada, and if you find them they are drastically over priced... humph.

It's a squier affinity series maple neck. It's the only maple one i've seen.

Oui! It Fran's old Sound City. I've swapped the speaker out for a Cannabis Rex and stuck some Tung Sol's tubes and got a new reverb tanks and it sounds the tits. Unfortunately I've not yet cranked it in a practice but that's soon to change.

The strap I found on a junkie old acoustic someone left on their porch with a load of other crap for passers by. I think it might be an Ace strap, very old, probably 70s.

I have a 60's black Baldwin-made (bolt-on neck) Double Six. It ain't dull.

Still has '74 flower stickers on the bottom edge... I found the original sheet of stickers a few months back, Jan Pienkowski designed them.

I have no doubt that a modern Burns and a vintage Baldwin from the 60s would sound different.
