Hardluck Kings Guitars

I've heard of rival companies making negative claims about competitors' gear in music forums, but I don't see how a forum can be held accountable for that because how can they really know?
And it bothers me that some of these companies think they can limit people's opinions just because they're negative or because they don't agree with them.

Yea I haven't visited there in a while. The harsh restrictions are annoying, plus the forum moves WAY too fast! A couple months ago I was checking it every day, and if I left to teach guitar lessons for 3 or 4 hours the bass guitar forum would be backed up 5 to 10 pages! It was too hard to follow threads that I found interesting because they got buried too fast, and for the same reason it was hard for actual good threads and conversations to develop there. That plus a huge majority of the people there are old classic rock types who do investment banking by day and classic rock covers at bars by night and they are all overly judgmental of other types of music. So it's not a real friendly scene a lot of the time... you'd think for a place with such harsh restrictions that the people would at least be friendly and welcoming, but that's not the case. Also if you like classic Fender basses, everybody there seems to think you should own an overpriced Sadowsky ($2500 for their "low end" MIJ bass?!?!?), Lakland, or Mike Lull or some other boutique (even though I don't think any of those brands can be qualified as boutique anymore when a majority of talkbass posters own one) bass that investment bankers assume is a better instrument because it has a higher price tag.plaidbeer wrote:Talkbass sounds like the worst forum ever. Not that I have a reason to go there, but that's some real bullshit.

so he was grateful for the images being taken down, but then he repeated the request to remove the thread, speculating that nobody would have had negative opinions had they not seen the copyrighted photos. the thing is, there's a link to their site in the original post, which is a totally legal practice. and the views expressed are opinions about the actual product, not the owner, employees, or any individuals. . . certainly not by name.
to use this guy's logic, radiohead and green day could demand taken down any negative comments posted about their music of which there have been loads on shortscale. illegally posted content? no problem, we can mezz those things out without batting an eyelash. opinions about their product? completely fair game, and it's called free speech.

Yea there's nothing this guy can do about us leaving our negative comments about his guitars up here. It is free speech and we didn't slander anybody. We just said we thought his guitars were ugly because they are ugly. If anybody could have negative comments removed from a website just because they didn't like what a person said, Youtube wouldn't be allowed to have a comments section.
Having men be 'kings' and women be 'bombshells' probably doesn't do them any favours either.
If they did remove the lame graphics they'd have nothing to differentiate themselves from countless other companies who make knock-offs of strats, teles and les pauls.
I wonder if the guy is emailing people at other forums asking for positive comments to be removed because they were based on copyrighted photos. And of course to have the photos removed. I doubt it very much.

I have to ask, dots, if the person who contacted was, in fact, "guitarkid"? You know, the guy who appeared, made one post, and was never heard from again.
I visited their website today just to see if it's changed. It might have gotten worse. From what I can tell, they're as much a lifestyle company as anything else. A lifestyle I want no part of.

I actually visited the website. That's some snide-ass bullshit dickfuckery right there. What the fuck is with all the "Kings" and "Bombshells" horsecrap? I notice that for the single "Bombshell" on there they record her height, weight and other vital statistics like the size of her tits and waist, something they don't do with the guys. Why don't they ask some of the fat guys for their weight and cup size? Fuck that sexist bullshit. It looks like a site made by douches for douches.
