I've never seen spacers on a Bronco trem before and I've had a couple. Both of mine had trem posts that threaded directly into the wood body. I'd say the the threads were worn out and that's the reason for the spacers.

It looks like those're there to block the trem. If you tightened the two fulcrum screws down, the trem probably wouldn't move.

Update.... here is the hold up. After a closer look, string slots are a train wreck. Gonna fill and re-cut the slots, and If that doesn't work out without issues, I've got a nut blank. I've never shaped a new nut, so I'm hoping the glue/bone dust works
Gonna enlarge the p/up cavity today, wire it with the Dimarzio, tend to the nut issue, and string it up. I want to see what I'm looking at playability-wise before I pull the trigger on a new p/up. Fret wear is borderline on the lower fret cowboy chord area too......we'll see.
