Nice score. Love it. I bought one of the Competition Blue reissues new in 2002 when they first came out here. I was 16 and it was the first guitar I ever bought for myself. Never should have sold it.

drBenway wrote:Actually, I meant "here" as in here on shortscale. Maybe I was wrong? I read rants about the MG69 being inferior to the MG65 and overall an average guitar.
They probably just meant the pickups; Japanese RI Fenders are quality wherever I find them. There's "inferior" and then there's "I'd rather have had the fancier one". If I really wanted a Mustang, '69 CIJs are the first place I'd look. When I first got into shortscales the '69 RIs were what was being sold... I went for the Jag-Stang instead... to this day I regret it.
People say the pickups in CIJ Jaguars are bad too, and while I couldn't hang with the bridge unit I do still love/use the neck one almost 13 years on. Whatever floats the boat.
There's a lot of fans of your specific guitar here, trust me. Several members have owned identical ones even.

Ugh, I had a horrible experience with them last year. Order a Toronado rear plate cover from them. Waited 2 weeks, nothing showed up. Emailed em a bunch and rang their phone off the hook for a month. Finally had to get Paypal to refund my money. Still hadn't heard from them till this day.

Sorry to hear that, mate. I've bought from them a few times and it's always gone smoothly. Shit happens though, and I know that anything going wrong with online shopping can leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Thanks everyone on the congratz.
I looks even better in real life! And the neck is absolutly the nicest neck I've ever had.

Very nice! May I be so impolite as to ask what it cost you?

Yeah. As stated before guitars cost alot more here.
I paid 5000 swedish crowns (about 460 pounds) + shipping. (Hardcase came with the guitar).

Well, that leaves you with money in your pocket compared to the Jag you were looking at, so it looks like a win!

Yes

I think it was a fair price. It's in great condition and the case is rugged.
The first guy wanted an additional 1000 crowns for a hardcase, and I would have to spend about a thousand more for new guard and pickup.
Plus, I needed money for a 212 cabinet.
I don't regret for a moment going with a mustang instead. I'll get an jaguar later

Gratz!
I have that same guitar, though mine is modified for a p-90. That is my favorite neck ever as well. You'll love it.

I initially bought a Mustang because I couldn't afford a Jaguar.
Oddly enough, if I were on the market again, I'd probably get a Jaguar because I can't afford a Mustang.

Sorry for shitty picture. I decided that it would be good idea to put my digital camera on the floor until the day I stepped on its display. So I had to use my "camcorder"-thing.. No flash, blur of doom; but you get the picture..
Mah stangs:
(And no, unfortunately the studded guitar strap isn't mine..)
I got my amp kickin' as well. As I said, I'll do an demo of all my stuff later.

Nice Mustang Bass.
This subject's as good a place as any to say this, though. If you get A because you wanted B but figured A would do, let's just say that it always ends with you buying B anyway.
I know this because I got a Mustang though I wanted a Jag. I ended up getting a Jag, even though I love the Mustang and still have it.
And now I'm buying a Mustang Bass though I thought having a Bronco & and Musicmaster Bass would somehow make it all OK. I love them both, but I still needed the Mustang.

Thanks. Interesting theory, that's often true for us students/unemployed/kids. I've got an internship now, and we'll see how things work ut. Once I get a little more cash, a jag will be mine. But I'm not selling the mustang!
Get the mustang bass, you won't regret it! I think mine was originally red, but I bought it this way.
Anyone got any clues about this? It was made in 68, I checked the serial on the neck plate and on the neck.
