I had a play around on the Virtual Jaguar. The bridge pickup with the bass cut on sounds like my cup of tea. HH would be even sweeter.Ankhanu wrote:Wait, which instrument are you referring to? CP Jaguar HH?
I was describing the switches on the Pawn Shop Mustang... Though I suppose the dials on the upper horn of the CP Jag HH work nearly same way.
The bottom plate are on/off switches for each pickup, with a strangle switch (closest to the bridge), reducing the low frequencies leaving the instrument. The switches on the upper horn are a kill switch and single to humbucker blend dials for each pickup, but I think it goes Single -> Humbucker with different levels of blend between the two. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't split between the two coils like the PSMustang, just 1 -> 2 coils.
Standard Jaguar controls, the upper plate has the on/off switch and volume and tone for the rhythm circuit; rhythm circuit uses only the neck pickup, with 50k pots.
When the Rhythm circuit is off, the Lead circuit is engaged, the lower plate controls the neck and bridge pickups on/off and the strangle switch again, with the volume and tone controlled on the lower bout like most guitars. It's a lot brighter, with 1Meg pots.

well, no. not really at all. i mean, maybe sometimes. if said jazzmaster had humbuckers.
it's more of a jaguar with humbuckers and a strat trem. the only thing really jazzmaster is the chromeless pickguard, pot location (on vista), and the addition of a 3 way switch.

the vista jagmasters came in a wider variety of colors, too, didn't they?chemistforhire wrote:Well thats just a matter of opinion. Besides the scale length, trem and pickups (imo the jagmaster pickups sound better) they are basically the same guitar with one being relatively cheaper than the other.poorhillbilly wrote:its cool. cooler than other squiers. but not as cool as a Blacktop

yeah but the sound of the pickups is down to opinion too. trem, mm adjustomatic is better! scale is very similar. it needs colours too. at least its made out of alder. if you find a used blacktop jaguar, your in for a bargain.dots wrote:the vista jagmasters came in a wider variety of colors, too, didn't they?chemistforhire wrote:Well thats just a matter of opinion.
