Fingers crossed, I'll be getting some colour on this later today.
I've just shot another coat of primer, I'll leave that to harden, flat it back, and get on with some colour!
BTW, I'm using 2pack paint which hardens really fast.

Well, it's red!

I'm impressed by the reflection of the brick wall in the back.

More paint tomorrow, if the weather allows.

I'm about to strip the black off my 93 Duo-Sonic. Wanna yellow guitar with a [my avatar] decal behind the bridge. Bakelite pickguard, yellow p-up covers, chrome knobs n stuff. NEW BETTER-ER TUNING MACHINES

What pickguard are you liking the best on it? The white or the black?

Personally, I think the black with white pickup covers and knobs will give it a nice hagstrom look...

All up to you man. That Hagstrom looks killer. Just never liked black on dark color Fenders myself, unless it's a walnut mustang. The white one looks ace though.

Indeed, and some of the other odd 60s models. One hick up is I bought a cream tip jag arm. I need to swap for a white tip for the full effect.

CANT PUT PICS UP ARGH
Snagging and executive summary before pics and full run down:
- Wiring the rotary switch was a pain the arse. I got the lugs wrong so the positions are in a hilariously random and incomplete order. Not looking forward to sorting that out.
- Trem arm collet is rubbing on the b string. Basically the trem plate is wonky, this could be to do with the screw holes being jammed up with paint and stuff. Might sort itself out after screwing/unscrewing a few times.
- Needed a big reverse shim. Needs another little one.
- Tune o matic is totally different sound to other Fender bridges. Night and day. Wider, bassier, flatter Les Paul heft as opposed to Strat chirp and airiness. Good for the Keefs. Perhaps in time I might reverse engineer to a Jag or Mustang bridge with bridge cups.
- Overall, guitar feels solid and capable of an excellent setup. Very quick to play on.

+1
This is why I ultimately pulled the TOM off my Jaguar after a couple years... I realized it didn't sound like a Jaguar, or even
feel like one.
Nice result George! Had almost forgotten about this thing.

Cool stuff. Looks great.
The only thing i'd prefer was the pickguard to curve up with the body shape like a Start guard (above the bridge pup), but then it may have looked too Stratty? Its more like a Bronco guard as it is.
