Joey wrote:Instead of comp stripes, have you considered running racing stripes parallel with the neck. I've seen Mustangs with racing stripes that were offset above the pickguard so you could see em more... you are a car guy, figure something out.
I actually tried in photoshop the parallel stripes above the pickguard buy didn't like it and I don't know about GT stripes. I feel like if I just do regular stang stripes then I won't have an urge to get a compstang and spend a shitload more money.

I don't think I'm gonna get the stripes painted but get the decal.
Cool. Where are you getting the decal? I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

They are actually on eBay. Exact copies of the painted stripes on the compstangs but in decal form.

Awesome. Not sure why I didn't even think to look on ebay. Thanks.

Finally Got The Last Pickup! Oh! And I decided to go with lake placid blue as the paint! :D I think it will look nice with the w/b/w guard. I brought my Marauder up to the paint shop and color matched it perfectly.

Pickguard looks good. How does the switch work at the top?

Thanks. Thats pretty cool. It's more limiting than individual switches, but there are always those settings you never use anyway.

Nice, those are exactly the settings I would choose from 3 single coils and a 3 way switch.

Thanks. I wanna try and wire both the bridges in parallel when they are on (bridge & middle pickup) The bridge and middle are both reissue Mustang Pickups and the neck is a cyclone neck pickup.

Hopefully this will be done soon.. Paint is taking forever because his shop got damaged from Sandy, I recently bought a Jaguar neck for it. I am planning another one of these to be built. More of a redesign to make it better.

MAJOR UPDATE!

I got the body back from paint. I went to a different painter. It costed me $10.00 less then the previous guy and the same pro quality. I had it painted in the same color as the new Fender Marauder that they claim is Lake Placid Blue but it's more like a in between of ice blue and lake placid. I just color matched my marauder. I love this color. Especially with the w/b/w pickguard. I think the guitar came out amazingly. Now that there is finally paint it really came to life. The quick photoshops didn't give it justice.

I used a blacktop jaguar neck. I locked the mustang tube with washers and taped the bridge posts to keep it from rocking. I had to drill a hole from the swimming pool rout to the vibrato spring rout and feed a wire through it and strip it then screw the vibrato plate on to ground it. I totally forgot about grounding when I had Cooterfinger make the body. It worked out really nicely. Added a little bit of copper shielding, just waiting on getting it wired by my friend.

It has such a killer look when your playing it. It has the awesome moving forward look like the jag-stang. It is so well balanced. I'll try to take a bunch of cool pictures when it is together. I am letting my buddies band play it at their upcoming big show.

I think it's just the way the picture is taken lol. It's the same length as a jaguar, maybe a tab bit bigger then a jag. The marauder is actually pretty small body wise. But thanks guys. I love it. (:
