I have to say, i think the Bad Monkey wipes the floor with the Juice Box. The Juice Box seems to be a bit 'fizzy' and the notes dont have the same definition.
The Bad Monkey is actually an overlooked pedal imo, the EQ has way more scope than any Tubescreamer.
Aye, i remember their ads in the mags, Gonkulator, Juice Box... Dod pedals are like an old pal from another time.

Thinking back there really wasn't that much choice at all, the random Guyatone, Arion or Ibanez pedal would pop up but it was all Boss.
Its incredible what you can get now.

i dunno, ibanez tubescreamers have been through a lot of eras, including the 90's. i seem to recall no shortage of mxr pedals, either. maybe it was different in the uk vs. the states? there definitely was not even a tenth the number of options back then, though, and boss did dominate.

My recollection of guitar shops in the early 90s in UK was that they stocked very little other than Boss - and to a teenager Boss pedals were expensive. I think I recall Arion (or something similar) being stocked too but they looked like poo next to a Boss.
Having said that though, my first ever pedal was an Ibanez WF10 fuzz-wah, stocked by my local guitar shop.

Most definitely. I dont recall seeing stuff like MXR or EHX until the next decade. Danelectro, Marshall and Dod were available later on but in the early 90's it seemed sparse. Boss dominated with the odd Ibanez and Arion stuff kicking about.

+I finally got a 5 spot daisy chain for my One-Spot and it made me think about what I want on my board. After playing around with my pedals, I decided on an order that I liked best. Fuzz > Pitch Shifter > Delay > Tremolo > Reverb works best for me. However, my fuzz, delay, and tremolo pedals have top mount jacks and my pitch shifter and reverb have side mount jacks. Using only right angle jacks makes this awkward. So they will be replaced by pedals with side mount jacks.
So, with this in mind, I went window shopping online and decided what I want:
Bass Big Muff for clean blend;
Hardwire Delay for lofi delay, (oscillating!) analog delay,and tap tempo;
Hardwire Trem for crazy versatility (also double trem, univibe, and vibrato modes(also tap tempo))
I already have the Ultra Shifter and Reverb, which I would definitely keep if I had to redo my pedal board.
