This thread isn't exactly helping me resist the temptation to buy one.

In sunburst please.

for the most part, I'm not a fan of sunburst on jag, but when I see a picture of Bob Dylan with a sunburst Jag (and black pguard, and mustang bridge), I start wanting one.

Dark tort in them days - but black on burst is a winner, that's the reason I will be changing strings on my new JM, to swap it to a black pg.

That, my friend, is the last JM ever made at Fullerton from the original run of the model - 1982.

Beautiful, but heavvvvvvy!

Shame it hasn't been played. I love the bursts on just about all late 70s early 80s fenders.

the tort's actually not bad on these. nowhere near as horrid as the stuff on the classic vibe basses. i expected to have to swap it out for an AVRI guard but it's fine.

Lovely in appearance, but CBS era crap none the less. The new Squiers are probably much better made higher quality instruments.

Dunno, I bet the trem etc are better on CBS Fenders. The other pics on that site show pretty nice fit and finish, I think they took some care with that one. I love my 78 Musicmaster which ought to be crap, but isn't.

You're right the trems would be better with the locking button.
