Nothing's been vista for quite some time. These are likely VM.jculpjr wrote:Are these Vista?
Holy Fucking Shit (Squier VM VI)
Moderated By: mods
I'm skeptical, the pictures are small and something about them looks 'shooped. But if they are real I'll be buying one as soon as they're available. And as much as I love BB necks, if the blocks are just cheesy looking plastic (like the VM jag bass) then I honestly wish they would have dots instead.
Edit: Actually I was just browsing the Fender website and their pictures look almost exactly like these, in terms of lighting. That gives me some hope.

Aye, its a mish mash of a Jag body but with a Strat top horn, half Jag half Strat scratchplate, an extra slider switch on a Jag plate...Dillon wrote:I'm skeptical, the pictures are small and something about them looks 'shooped.
Nothing new about it, could easily be fake and yet wouldn't surprise me if it was real.

robroe wins then!
mite be a daft idea, but could you take the top E off one of these, move all the remaining strings across, n put a bottom B on there? would it still intonate? is there enough room on the bridge to compensate for a low B?
the reason i ask, is cos the 5string-bass-playing Ms Spirograph really likes the look of these, but wants a low B string.
anyone tried this on an original or the MIM version?

Partly, i'm sure, but you can also bank on the fact fender marketing regularly review Offset and maybe shortscale for market trends (The Pawn SHop series is ARGUABLY derived from all the frankenstein projects seen over the last 6/7 years whilst simultaneously missing the point).Punkacc9 wrote:I wonder if our petition on osg triggered this. I also suspect that this has been along term strategy including releasing the Pawn Shop VI for greater money and possibly even with the deliberate use of a jazy pup so that the folks who shelled out for it might also want to shell out for a 'standard' squier version too. you also capture the proportion of their demographic who A) have some money, and B) like the PS VI. THEN you release the cheaper version to capture the remainder of the market demographic. Just look at how many folks are saying they'll buy one of these now.
