Oh yeah, they always do that. I stocked up on kettle leads a while back so I have a few for exactly this situation.

Benecol asked for my thoughts on my GVT15H, so I thoought i'd post them up here in case anyone else is interested.

I’m really liking the Ampeg, however my impressions on it are purely based on home usage rather than at volume.

The EQ seems to be very versatile, i’m not really a tweaker but i’ve found a nice Fender-y sound that I like so i’m happy – T at max, M at 1:30, B at noon. It seems to stay pretty clean with the gain all the way up, although pushing the Mids and Bass above 3 o’clock with cause it to start breaking up.

It seems to take pedals well, although i’ve had to tweak the settings a bit as to what i’d use with my Bassman to make them work. So far i’ve only used my HM-2, FZ-2, modded OS-2 and modded BD-2 though it. The OS-2 just sounds great through it, the HM-2 and FZ-2 needed a bit of tweaking to get a suitable sound but i’ve found a sound that works really well. The OS-2 and HM-2 seem to get a fuzzier sound through it than through my Bassman, but I really like it so that's ok with me. The BD-2 sounds very different through it than through my Bassman, it’s not necessarily a bad sound – just different. It seems to push the midrange in the amp to make it sound kind of honky, it a Rolling Stones ZZ Top way - however it's not really a sound i'm after so I may swap my BD-2 off my board.

Yeah, I've not really had a chance to turn mine up but I've messed around with it on the 25 watt setting at low volume. It's very, very nice. I tend to cut the bass down a quarter on any setting; there's alot of it to be had, but that could be because I've been playing the Boogie copy for so long and it basically doesn't have any. It sounds fantastic, though. Really flexible. Takes fuzzes really well, but because of the EQ I'm more inclined to mess with the amp EQ first to try and get a good sound at the moment. With a bit more time I'll probably start settling down to a few "set" sounds I like on it. The gain channel is also really quite good. Really nice sound. All I've ever really had before in the shared EQ with the "boost" switch on the Classic, same with the Boogie, but with this I have, at last, an amp with a totally separate EQ, which is great.
