Got it sanded up and ready to start spraying later tonight. I want to make sure it is dry. (Had to wipe it down after sanding.) I went for a distressed look. Kind of dig it!
I wetsanded the headstock and used some steel wool to match the satin finish on the rest of the neck. Got the tuners and stuff back on. Turned out great!
DAMN! That headstock (and body too) are giving me a funny feeling in muh pants.

Wetsanded today! I did 600 and then hit it with synthetic steel wool and then 3000 wetsanding paper to give it a nice satin finish. LOVE it. Nice and smooth and has a finish similar to the neck.
Tried to get the ground wire to the bridge, but it wouldn't grab on so I just fed it in to the tremolo cavity and grounded it there. Thimbles fit right in.
I checked the neck to see if the holes matched.... of course they didn't so I glued dowels in the holes and sanded them flush. Then I put the neck on the body and lined it up with the bridge to clamp in place. I drilled the upper two holes and screwed in those two. I checked again to see if the neck was straight and then I drilled the bottom two screw holes and mounted the neck completely. I put strings on it losely (So the dowels with glue can setup and stuff.) Here is how it looks!
Straplocks came in this afternoon so it is all good. Going to let the newly drilled neck set up a bit before I tune it up and intonate. Looks great! I am very happy with how it turned out.
