Maybe I should've considered it before, but the sideways behind-nut string angles make the Bigsby impossible to keep in tune. No end of slot-fanning or lubrication (hurr hurr they sound dirty) will make this work. BLARGH.
Back to phase 1, with a few battlescars :/

Was thinking about trying to sort the break angle some other way, but I'm enjoying the loose feel this setup provides. Maybe a lil neck shim will be enough, and I'll stop trying to turn it into a Tele, when it's already its own thing of byooooty.

That's looking tight as hell. My bandmate ordered a vintage 1420 like that I'm curious how it sounds.
