Been letting it cure a long time. Also was lazy about ordering a nut and tuners for it. I got those coming so it should start coming together very soon!

Those pickups were just ones I found on ebay by chance. I know they aren't Airline ones, but maybe they will have a similar sound since they are single coil pickups under a humbucker cover? Either way I hope they are cool. I guess if not at least they are normal humbucker size so I can swap any humbuckers in their place.

It is almost done. I feel super dumb for putting it off. It is really hot looking!

That's a sweet piece of work. How long have you been working on it? I really like the unusual shape. Makes me think of the Jetson's. Not entirely sure why, but I hope that doesn't sound too corny.

Project started in June and after I got paint done in the summer, I just let them hang and cure and got in to other stuff. :) It is based off of an Airline JB Hutto. I like the funky psudo futuristic look of it. :D

Got the tuners and nut installed with only one mishap. I was drilling the screw holes and my masking tape on the bit must have heated up and moved causing me to drill through the front in one spot. I dabbed some white paint there. Not super noticeable, but a bummer of course. LOL Overall still happy. These things happen.

Look who's neck screws came in! Looks great! I am pretty happy with it. Once the bridge comes in (I had borrowed one from another guitar for earlier pics) I can put strings on. :D

Finished! The pickups are cool. They don't noise cancel in middle position, but the sounds are great in all three switch positions. I am glad I went with 500k. I think if I had done a 1meg volume it would have been shrill. It set up pretty ok. I had to loosen the truss rod a bit to give a little relief on the neck. Intonation worked pretty fine. I have 0.11's on it at the moment. Pretty happy with it. Looks killer. All in all, it ended up looking almost exactly what I imagined it would look like. Sounds better than I hoped with the mystery pickups.
