Ah, sorry. They were on the front page earlier but seem to have disappeared.

Phonescaling fail.

Kind of like the Meteora, but would prefer it in less overtly teleish colour scheme. I also think it would benefit from having something weird, like four pickups instead of two or something.

The tele thingies look as weird as those project always end up looking. They look good, but would look far better on a Jazzmaster body.

That red yoke can fuck off. It looks like what you might end up imagining if someone told you about the Cyclone ii when you were pished on a night out, then you forgot all about it for about two years, then you tried to remember what it was they were talking about.

Also, Meteor is the same shape as the Voyager, a prototype from five years ago:

I was going to post the Wunjo link earlier, but that got pulled too. Possibly by the Taste Police.

Oh shit I love this. Wouldn't play it as I only really like hardtails these days, and I prefer to have as few switches as possible, but it looks incredible!

You two want to have a word with yourselves - the shape that the pickguard makes of the bottom bout is the worst guitar thing ever. Also:

I can't see the trem position on the JazzTele:

...without getting heavy glass-balanced-on-the-edge-of-a-table feeling:

The Danelectro Longhorn is a design classic.

These things by Fender are just a lazy mish-mash of old ideas. It's like Fender has a deck of playing card from all the good ideas from 50 years ago, then they deal out a random hand and viola, new model.

at first i thought those jazzteles were tight as hell but then i remembered that they're just funny shaped jazzmasters, like how jazzcasters are just funny shaped teles. I'd still play one but tbh i want something more interesting. that meteora is pretty cool too but again, just a funny shaped tele.

also i refuse to believe that strat thing is real because holy fuck, its ugly. fender wyd this looks like a teenager's photoshop job

It's like the Island of Dr Moreau.

Meteora looks awesome, just wish they'd gone with some less conventional appointments to go with that new shape. I don't think they're reassuring anyone who would think the thing looks too radical by saying "but don't be scared, it's really just a tele at heart"

I think the teles with jazzmaster pickups are neat too. I'm think I'm past the stage in life where I feel that every new guitar demands a new body shape. If you can come up with something cool and innovative that's great but I'm fine with taking something that's been proven to stand the test of time and offering new configurations.

Foun Dit: over here. In line with Fender efforts for 2018, the Jazz Telecaster name is a logical explanation for what you get equally lazy.

Oh boy. Literally any other colour scheme and I would be all over this. Mainly just to fulfil my long-term lust for an 81 Bullet.

My mate Rob has one he never plays because of a huge dent in one of the frets. And yet he refuses to sell it to me, the bastard.

100%, they really needed to move it forward á la the Classic Players; no point in keeping the spacing 'authentic' when it's not even an old model AND it looks that iffy.

I like it, but not as much as I like this:

Fender Samurai from NAMM 2012. A locking tremolo on this and we're set.
