It doesn't matter...but I really like the new guard. Looks pro vintage to me.
Yeah, maybe even still as purpley as the stock one, just with that extra detail to make it all a bit more magical.Thom wrote:I can see what you mean...I think on balance I prefer the original. From what you're saying you might be looking for something more like what I've got on my strat?
Got that from earlpilanz on eBay.
It's honestly not bad, but felt like it jarred against that paleboi fretboard a bit too much. Either way, I'm a fool for wasting so much money on plastic but ehhhhhHurb wrote:It doesn't matter...but I really like the new guard. Looks pro vintage to me.

Nice! It certainly doesn’t look bad at all as is but hopefully that’s the winner.Doog wrote:Luckily, I hit up this geezer just now, and he's selling me the stock tort off his pink Jag

I was wondering this too. I don't know anything about Indian laurel. It's quite oily, isn't it? I'd be tempted to go for it with an alcohol based stain, but there's the risk that it would end up patchy.Doog wrote:Hmmm, nae sure about adding paint products to wood. The collet is amazingly well-crafted; I was tempted to get the bridge too but its like £70 and the stock one is generally pretty good.Mike wrote:My Staytrem Jaguar bridge on my Squier is great - they make *chef kiss* stuff
