They are nothing special. My mate had a black one off his uncle w/bigsby in the early 90s. He cashed in on the Kim Thayil interest some years later. Not a patch on a decent Gibson or Yamaha imo.

I'd have to disagree. I've played a few vintage S100s and I've not touched a Gibson SG or an SG-alike that I've thought felt better than them. I love their necks and those old Guild humbuckers are amazing. All my personal opinion of course.
Have you played any other than the one your mate had? Perhaps his was a dud.

I think this is what Andy from Hot Rod Circuit played the last couple tours I saw them on, and he always had tuning problems with it. It sounded great but he had to re-tune between every single song.

'Kin 'ell that Coronado is lovely.
Thanks for the window shot Stew. I see you live on the ground floor. Whereabouts in Leith is it you live exactly?

you trying to burgle my guitars?

I was just going to run towards your flat with my eyes close making grabbing motions. If your flat gets burgled that's your fault for not moving it out of my way.

it's the one with the razor wire fence, burglar alarm, vicious dogs and armed guards patrolling outside. you can't miss it.

Bad luck.
First I nick your vinyl and now Gav is after your guitars.

It's entirely for the Kim Thayall association that I would want to play one. I'm not sure about owning one, but I am curious.

A couple of the new jazz bass with my other guitars. I bought new knobs, a new pickguard and a thumbrest (all coming to around £10 - complete bargain), but annoyingly I have drilled for the thumbrest in slightly the wrong location. It needs to go half it's length towards the neck but I'll wait until I get the pickup cover to move it as it may need to be moved again once that is on. Once the pickup and bridge cover arrive I'll take some proper pics.
I think it's one of my favourite ever purchases but of course it's still the honeymoon period. It easily lives up to the Japanese Tokai I played and couldn't afford.

Very nice James. The bass looks great.

Much preferred it with the Black pickguard. You've ruined it by making it as common as muck.
Bleh.

I was actually a bit worried about that when considering an off-white guard. This picture sold me on the idea enough to try it...
Then I got one for £3 from ebay and thought it was worth a go. It looks great in person, and will hopefully look better still with the covers on.

Damn, that finish is absolutely perfect.

It's less than perfect close up. There's a slight bit of orange peel (guitar cellulite). The guy selling it assumed it was a refinish, that's why I got it so cheap (£290).
