robert(original) wrote:12 strings are a trip, its like a 6 string, but with 6 more strings!
i made a temp of the neck cuz it felt so good, i would like to made a modern day 10 string or 12 string with the neck temp. but that is down the line from now.

I'm still working on the drawings, but I'm going to make some templates in the near future,
I'll post the drawings when I'm done.

Oh my, what a job you did. Wow.

What was your technique to age it? a flux capacitor?

Aw man, no offense robert but I loved the way it looked with the unsealed blue.

The back looks great how did you get it to yellow like that? The lightning for the front picture is making it difficult to tell.
The only part thats throwing me off is the section of the pick guard in front of the bridge.

Don't listen to Ludger, that is one sexy ass beast! what p/ups are you putting in there?

the pups are already in there, they are maurader style.
here are the specs.
vintage villager neck.
re-issue f keys
vintage epiphone humbuckers.
vintage k 3 way switch
vintage knobs
gotoh bridge
random ferrels
vintage kay strapbuttons
wd pots and jack.
3 ply grizzly tort
2 peice ash body(its heavey as hell!)
acrylic urethane blue, nitro white, tint and a light mist clear coat.
i have it strung up and set up, it plays like a dream and sounds really... jingly, but its haunting and its a very very tight and responive instrument. i was doing alot of tabbing and flamenco crap on it early and it preformed wonderfully.
i figure i will play it for a while and then sell it at the local music store.
altho tracy my gf was eye balling it pretty hardcore, so she may want to buy it.

Did you move the bridge back?

:?:

what do you mean?
when it was blue the bridge was not screwed in, i just set it on to take some photos.
if i would have had a vintage bridge then it would have fit nicely in that spot but.... can't find em anywhere.

during my lunch break i grabbed it and a tweed case to do some snap shots.

Lol, Ludger didn't say it was bad, he just said he loved it in the blue. :)

When you said you wanted the guy to put down a rough coat because you were going to damage it, I didn't imagine you'd leave like, hardly any of the blue. It looks pretty crazy, but very you I must say! And damn is that sun bright!

there is only a small mist coat of clear so... after a few months from playing it on a regular basis it will start to wear away more.

the stealth pups actually sound great!
its a very haunting sound. nice n lush, not really high end and harsh like some i have played.
a band like mogwai would go ape shit over this thing.
i just took it to the local music shop and put it in the window, i bet it will sit for about a year before someone buys it, if anyone buys it.

yeah, its a great guitar, and i will make myself one someday but right now i have no need for a 12 string and i have had a few inquiries about it already so i figured i might as well sell it.
i still have all the temps and everything, even a temp for the neck so i can always make myself one.
incase anyone is interested in it its 849.99 at wabbash music, its next to a set of 63 slingerland gene croupa(sp?) drums.
and if you are truly interested then i could cut a ss.org bro deal
