Dude this thread is 2 yeeearrrs old
On that note, what's the general rule about bumping old threads? Isn't it better to add to an existing thread than starting a new thread? I got some grief for doing that when I first started and I don't understand why it was a big deal.

Nothing in the 'News and Rules of the Road' section to say you can't/shouldn't.
To be fair to Ro S, people have had a moan at him in the past for being lazy and not using the search function but here he is demonstrating that he has used it and someone has a go at him for adding to an old thread when he thought his comments might be useful. Give the guy a break.
I like his enthusiasm even if he's posting about a bunch of old thread topics.
I do think everybody should try and use the search before asking for info, bravo to that.

I gather that the Behringer SF300 is a copy of the Boss FZ2 Hyper Fuzz, and that their mode 1 switch setting is supposed to be based on the Univox SuperFuzz.
Here's a link to Fran's demo of the SF300:
Nice.
The Guyatone TZ2 micro series fuzz is also based on the Univox Superfuzz.

Besides the fact Ro S used the search function you also have to consider when we put demos up on Youtube we open ourselves up to feedback, criticism and questions. In some cases people being led to this forum and old threads.
I still get asked questions on guitars i sold over four years ago, i can either delete the demo's or continue to help people out which was my original intention. Its good to see old threads bumped, especially the good ones- i did it recently with the Vester thread.
I'm glad this thread got bumped, I've checked out Behringer's stuff before (I've got the T0800, Tubescreamer clone) and had overlooked the Super Fuzz. It's certainly on my buy list now, as I've been wanting a cheap/decent fuzz.
