OK.

That lug on the jack is ground.
The right lug on the volume pot should connect to it.
One leg of the cap should also connect to it.
The other leg of the cap should be connected to the wiper of the tone control.
The right lug of the tone control should be connected to the left lug of the volume control.
The wiper of the volume control should be connected to the 3DPT.

Awesome dude, thanks a loooad. Do I NOT want the cap and ground wire connected to the pot housing then? Just have it go pot wiper>cap>jack ground?

The jack ground is connected to the pot casing and to the case anyway they are all ground. You can connect the ground end of the cap to either the pot casing or the jack ground, whichever is easiest. If you connect it to the pot casing you need to rmove that tape so it can ground itself though.

frankinly i never have tried this tone control on the wolf computer... partly because generally speaking it (being so simple passive lowpass filter) is kind of dull sounding. what pot/cap value did you use? you have it hooked up like mike said to now, right? if so thats good. anyhow like iw as saying, i used this kidn of tone control on the old old singing tree v1's (doubt anyone hear knows about em, but anyhow) and ultimately it sounded kind of stuffy for most stuff... but the singing tree is an overdrive (an already warm one at that) so I can only imagine that the simple lpf on the wolf computer does work a treat! love to see a demo ill put one in on the next one i build

They are simple, but I find they work in pedals quite well. I put one on Doog's Saltbooster (250K/68nF) for him which improved it no end for his needs, and I've put the same into Harmonic Perculator clones aswell.

I gave Doog a 500K pot and a bunch of caps, he'll be able to let you know which one he used.

Also - Doog wanted to add a tone control to roll off some high end so I showed him the easiest way to achieve that, I doubt he would have appreciated me trying to walk him through a Big Muff Pi tone stack and recovery stage using MS Paint.

oh no doubt. for a quick and simple tone control the pot+cap is a great choice. like i said, i just though it sounded bad on my old overdrive. it does work well on many other things though.

I actually pinched the pot and cap from the Saltbooster, the cap and pot combo I had in the WC first time only cut trebz in the last tiny turn of the dial and didn't yield as nice a tone. I'll get the same value stuff for the Saltbooster and stick it back in, it's definately a great, simple but extremely usable mod.

You should have let me know and I could have sent you a 250K pot.

Ah, I didn't want you sending me all your parts for nothing, you've helped loaaads already! I just tried the SaltBooster after the Wolf Comp once I got home and found the SB's tone control that much more usable. And I was just so excited, I did the swap there and then.. I'm sooo impatient when it comes to gear
