Nah I left it stock because modifying a guitar reduces it's value on resale, people want it to be pristine as possible, even if the mods make it sound better.

Plus I thought it was perfect as it was.

Just one stupid question: the one on the left is sonic blue, and the middle one daphne blue ? I see the difference when I see a guitar physically, but find it alsway hard on photos ... Need to ask my wife which colour is allowed for me. She hates my Strat in Daphne blue. Dunno yet what she thinks about a Red Mustang ...

Thanks, so Sonic is a little darker. .. Was the 65 RI Mustang ever made in Sonic Blue? I know that there was a Mustang in Sonic Blue at the shops, few years ago, but don't remember if it was with or without contours.

Nope, the 69 RI (contours, tort scratchplate) was made in Sonic Blue though.

You can get the 65RI in many colours in Japan but the export colours were just Custard/White and Sonic Blue.

they don't export the 69's anymore but i don't know if they're actually just discontinued or still made by fender japan, i gotta do some looking up !

From what I found, the 69 is still made in a lot of colours: http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/fender/200 ... ustang.htm the 65 however is only made in those colours in which you can buy it.

Plus there is a 73 comp. with matching headstock. Not to my taste, but they are there. I loved the 76' RI that is listed on ishibashi, natural finish with maple fretboard.

go easy on me, I've never messed with the action on any guitar i've ever had.

There are 2 holes on either side of the bridge. Loosen the strings a bit and use a small allen wrench.

Hold on... (goes to toolbox)

Mine takes a 1.5mm allan wrench. Anyway, just tighten or loosen the screws on either side to raise or lower the bridge.

It's a '69 MIJ - screw should be the same size, though. You can get a whole set of allan keys for ~$2 at most hardware stores.

The bridge is floating - so yeah, it'll fall out with the strings off.

k cause on all my other guitars it was a strat bridge & trem, so still getting used to some of these things

all right I'll go to the hardware store tomorrow morning....I must have lost the allen key for the bridge.
