i recently sold my 77 twin for $650. that particular year was rated at 135 watts. it did have a nice clean tone but it if you wanted an overdriven sound, it had to be cranked way to much which resulted in it being too loud. my 72 super reverb is a much better choice.

personally i would rather play through a jcm800 marshall.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no. Spring reverb isn't emulating a slight bit of room reverb.
Surf Reverb is for Pussies.

i have only had experience with two
one was a vintage(not sure of the year, but a silverfaced version, probly a later 60's)
and the other was a re-issue.
the vintage one sounded good, just good, but that was years ago and i cannot really comment on how it sounded just becuz im so far removed from that time.
the re-issue was rather nice, i didn't really fiddle with it becuz the setting that rick had it (owner of the music store) was fucking perfect.
it sounded fantastic, the cleans were really crisp and jangley, i tried it with a double drive pedal and a boss super overdrive, both sounded good going thru it, i don't think i turned it up past 4 tho, i remember thinking that it was incredibly loud for its size.
but then i got the bassmen for aen its louder than god, srsly, i can power a 4X12 cab, AND the 2x12 celestion fulled cab it came with.
50 watts of tube= 12000 watts solid state.

in HS i had a friend whose dad had a twin reverb. that thing was fucking AMAZING sounding. it was definitely heavy as a tank though. he used it to run his vintage rhodes through...and that thing SPARKLED through that amp. guitars sounded amazing through it too.

Yeah same here. This is what I was looking for when I bought that Univox Bassman-clone, but every twin I could find was at least $700 then. Drop the cash on a different amp and here comes the amp I wanted for the price I was wanting!

This must be karma fucking with me for raping all those dead grandmothers.

If you told me you had a 72 super reverb in your RV you could probably lure me in there pretty easy.

If your worried about wattage you could always take out 2 power tubes...= half power...
