I'm probably never going to live this down and burn in geek hell but I remember reading one of the Drenai books by David Gemell (probably Legend) in which the advice was to rub orange peel on your hand to stop you dropping your sword whilst smiting enemies in a mighty-thewed fashion. Every single time the fucking plectrum slips around and gets dropped, or my hand cramps, I wish I had an orange to hand to test this and live my teenage fantasy of ummm smiting and that.

Could just buy Gorilla snot instead....

I'll get me coat.

Sometimes I am so proud of other people's 'should I post this/shouldn't I?' value judgements. Post of the year, as far as I'm concerned. We need more sci-fi/fantasy based guitar tips.

(Incidentally I tried to post that video here using the correct button.... but it just shows the "Download plugin" in a square box...no plugin found - how do??)

As to Plectrums I've generally gone around fingers, the grey vinyl dunlops (but cut small like a Jazz III), Jazz IIIs, assorted brass plectrums including a a tasty heart shaped bit of Argos jewelery I found on the street and I also purchased a Wirething for shits and giggles. It's okay but the wire part is too rounded and i like a sharp point.

I guess my ideal would be a sort or Jazz III but with a metal tip (!?!?!).
