All this talk of the Cocteau Twins and modulation has put the notion of getting a flanger in my head. I had a cheapo one years ago. Can anyone suggest a good one?

i'm really no chorus guy and i HATE flanger to death.
still, if i ever needed chorus i always relied on my old boss ce-2 to get the job done. works for the cover-job at the bar etc.

for the original band stuff... i found this old arion chorus/flanger plastic pedal from the 80s for around $20 and WHOA man, it's as versatile as it can get. and it's FANTASTIC!!! highly recommended... it sounds like nothing else. from the soft swoosh to wobby warbles. i never use the flanger part, though.

good luck,

Keep checking Gumtree. You missed a couple of Boss ones this/last week. They're normally cheap too.

You have to keep watching for them on ebay. they pop up every once in a while.

The SCH-1 is super sought after though and usually goes for over $100 on ebay. that might bump the value for the DCF-1 even though they're digital.

the SFC-1 is also supposed to be a really good analog chorus

haha, I didn't know they made a Tubescreamer 10 series.

I have the DML10 "Modulation Delay II" from that line. What's the red one?

how does it sound? I've been tempted to try out some of their distortions for a while. but yea, somehow the chorus has built a reputation and it goes for a lot. the "re-issue" SCH-Z you can get for cheap though. You might be able to find a good deal on that DCF-1 though, it could very well not go for a lot due to it being digital.

to be honest, I think the BOSS CE-3 is a great route to take for a cheap analog chorus. I don't think it sounds nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. sounds like a chorus to me. and you can get them for super cheap on the bay.

The clips I heard of the Analogman Chorus sounded pretty good, but that might be too corksnifferish for this crowd.

I can vouch for the small clone, great sound, and, of course, it's purple. Win/Win.
