We will see. I may have to be forst come first serve on these. I have to see how much cash I got left, and if I end up bro dealing all of them or if I can flip one or two locally fro some extra cash. If I can keep one for a few weeks I totally will though...
BTW. I now have 6 on the way.
I have now ordered 9 guitars and an amp in the last 4 days for a grand total of:
1250 cash. Of which I am going to turn around and sell 5 of the guitars (maybe 4) and get back alot of my money.

well, the thing is, the money is controlled by parents who don't support me getting a new guitar...but even my dad seemed sold on this one, because he knows what an incredible deal it is. I'm going to Guitar Center either tomorrow or this weekend, and if they honor the price drop (which they said they would), that shit's coming home with me fo sho.
I was told by 2 differnet guitar centers and the guitar center website that local stores will not be able to match that price. I guess they can only discount down to their actual cost unless it is scratch and dent type material. Not sure how true that is, but I called around locally to the GCs around here prior to ordering online. The online center can mark price to whatever they want if a supervisor says so. Plus...Order online and pay no shipping or tax so it is 99 out the door...LOL.
Let me know if they do this deal in the store. I would be curious if the local stores were just blowing me off or not.

As I told Fran, I am happy to send one over the pond. I think Noire is going to get one from me. PM if you are interested. One thing though. Would need the funds paypal (preferable as a gift) fairly quickly to send over the pond. It would be 150 USD shipped over there (I don't know the exact shipping cost, but with the neck off I think 50 will cover it.) I know shipping cross country is usually about 25 so over there should be 50 or so I would think. I do reserve the right to adjust that if it turns out that it is alot more (or obviously offer a refund). If it is within $10 I will not worry about it of course.

called litz. there are 2. only 2 squier duosonics there for 99 dollars starting tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. they are first come first serve, and the first two people to get to them (by phone or in store) will get the guitars. good luck. i'll be at work...

I have a crap-ton of these things on order. I did that because I know alot of people on here would be interested (at least at that price) and I know victorlitz would only have 1 or 2. So I called MF and asked if they would price match. They did. Now I just added to the order. I got like 9 of them on the way. Ideally I will keep 2 (one to mod with mini humbuckers maybe...) bro deal 4-5 of them out on here at my cost, and flip 2-3 of them to help offset a little $ and make all the hassle worth it. In the end, I hope to end up with a little bit of running around, 3 new $99 (I also bought the avril lavigne tele for $99 to mod) guitars and break even on the whole deal. 3 new guitars and no money really spent, just some shipping time.
So, again, if anyone is interested check the classifieds or PM me.

I've always assumed it was there for a reason myself. It might be better there with the pickups Squier is using for it and/or these days through modern hi-gain shit. I guess we'll find out when someone moves it.

I was thinking just this ... they also ordered 10 or 20 guitars for a discount price that was only valid for 1 or 2 guitars ... because of some strange "we hit any price" policy that was invented to push smaller opponents from the market ... pure piracy

Yes, I played it a one year posession period. The Bridge PU could use a little more treble
The two PUs sound rather similar, which is a little bit of a waste of switching energy ... The frets on mine were a little high, gave me a sort of a Malmsteen-Strat feeling ... apart from that, it's a great guitar for the money. I mean, the regular money. For 99 $ or 65 € it is more like a gift ...

For those wondering how it sounds, I did a demo before giving it away (audio only). So if you can stand some badly played, out of tune country and western, take this:

You have first the bridge PU with some solo phrases, then some Johnny Cash abuse on the neck PU, and at the end some chords whil eswitching through the positions. All played through a Fender Blues Junior with some reverb, but without external effects.
