Certainly am, thanks to you Mike, it was your Youtube video that put me on to it. Finding the lead channel working very nicely with my Epi Les Paul, a bit tighter sounding, especially with the head in Triode mode. The only bad thing about the Bugera that I have found so far is that the blue light on the foot switch that indicates that the reverb is engaged is too bloody bright......no don't laugh, I promise, it's blinding!!!

I know exactly what you mean, they've gone BIG on the lights. The footswitch is cool though, the channel and reverb switching are seamless and very fast.

Everyone knows that blinding blue lights are what it's really all about.

Great demo Mike, I'm pleased to know these sound alright... I've actually been keeping an eye on the equally priced 22w combo version, but the best review I've found so far was written by this mouth breather:

aside from buying a real marshall stack, or wanting to spend a grand on something like an egnater, i have been on a quest for an amp to suit my needs and discriminating taste in tone.

an affordable all tube amp that looks nice? i'll give it a whirl...

the clean channel is very nice and the lead channel is too....at a low volume.

Also added a bit about how an amp has to rock out of the box to be good, if you have to change the speaker or tubes it was aimed at tonesniffers who "live for that stuff".

The JPEG compression on that channel page alone makes my stomach hurt.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Tone King. Although not the best quality vids, he does some interesting stuff and he does seem to be very neutral when reviewing things. He's quite funny (but I don't think that's intentional).

Would you say this amp would be good for recording with if you wanted a clean shimmery sound? or can you think of something else more suited?

For the money, I think you would be hard pressed to find anything else with the traditional Valve design (certainly with the headroom of the V55HD). Modelling amps I guess would do a good job for cleans but that's not my cup of tea so couldn't comment.

Mike, now having that v55 for a bit, any new thoughts on it. I am debating whether to order a v22/v55 or pick something used up off craigslist. I may even order a v22 and order the 2x12 cabinet for if I need more volume down the road or want a different head down the road.

I bought the v5 and it is a cool little amp.

just curious if a few weeks of playing has given you any more insight.

Still going strong and impressing me to be honest, but Ive only used it as a clean amp at home with pedals, not used it with a band yet I'm afraid.

yeah, I assumed it is more of a clean amp with pedals (one reason I should probably shoot for the v55 VS the v22 for more headroom). The OD is a little fuzzy even on the v5 which works for more bluesy/classic rock tones but not real RAWK if you know what I mean.... But, the important question..Does it take pedals well. Your demo seemed to show that it does.

Just been throwing a Little Big Muff through my V55HD and it sounds lovely. Takes pedals very well. My DS1 has never sounded so good either!!!

Now don't you be mean to the little DS1. Gives a decent tonal range for no money and when you first start playing that's what you want. Besides, it's a Boss, I dare say if you set fire to it, a little arm would pop out and extinguish itself. You just can't break them! God knows I've given it a decent try.

i've had and seen many more boss pedals simply cease to function for no aparent reason at all.

Fuck I think this just got on my amp wishlist now.

Yeah two 6L6's. Haven't cranked it with the band yet but I'll try that at some point.

Oh jesus it's a 6L6 amp also!? Next amp I buy, though that might be a while since I just spent $550 on a Twin.

Maybe if I sell my Vox Cambridge and add in the money I get from my iPod touch...
