UPDATE!!!!

i trimmed up the pickguard up by the neck in such a way to minimize mr. volume hole. the tone knob will become the volume knob and i will run 1VOL 1TOGGLEY.

i made some new holes on the guitar!!!! not on purpose.

PROTIP: SG's aren't very thick. i put some foam under the single coils and screwed them directly into the body of the guitar for shits and giggles and low and behold the neck pickup screws went right thru the back of the guitar. if this was a serious SG i would be gutted but fuck it, it was less than 100 bucks. ill just dremmul off the ends of the screws later and try not to get tetnus.

here is the diagram im going to use to wire up this bitch. replace hums with singles in YOUR MIND and it will make sense

I suppose you could mount the pickups backwards now, so that there's no holes on the pickguard like on a Danelectro. No real advantage to doing this, it'd hardly look any better for it, and you'd need to get a new guard cut. The advantage is that you could tell people you'd done it on purpose, I suppose.

yeah, those les-trems look pretty sweet. I've always been curious how they play. I'm tempted, but the price is hefty and I'd much rather have a trem arm ala the maestro vibrola.

exactly. they're pricey. and I wonder how good they would stay fixed when you're not using them.

They were used on reverend guitars for a while, so I guess usable enough to be marketable. I've read some threads about them and most users seem to say that they've got a bigsby feel to 'em. It's nice to think you wouldn't have to drill any holes into yr guitar but for the price one might as well man-up.

Freedom guitar is making a trem-adapter called the bowen handle which looks similar to the les-trem at a 1/3 of the price. Schaller has a similar style tremolo too, it mounts to the bridge rather than the stop bar. Again, have no clue how these play and who knows if robroe even wants to put these on this guitar. I mean, it's already really awesome right now.

everyone should do this mod. the starting guitar is cheap as fuck and the necks/frets on them are really nice compared to 100 dollar squier bullshit
