It's obviously that the black pickguard makes it look like the control plates are floating around randomly in space. On a lesser note using pickup rings with a pickguard is lame, like something Gibson would have done in the 80s. Lastly I don't like the way a TOM and stop tailpiece jarr with the jaguar curves.

+ eleventy. And it would be unsporting of me to nominate the Frankensonic while it's in the spam thread. If ever there was a guitar that divided opinion...

My turbulent entry into the world of shortscale.org...
It's ugly, I don't deny it. It's a beautiful catastrophe.

I just saw one of these and remembered how repulsed I am by them
Flame Tops! This one's especially bad with the "dividing line" behind the bridge.
All flame tops should be finished as such that you cannot see that ugly grain.

MINE EYES!!!
The body's not that bad but that neck has so many types of wrong.
Gibson needs to stop with the maple fretboards, IMO they only look good with rosewood.

I'm sure some do, but a majority have rosewood
Exhibit A taken from the SG standard page on Gibson's site :
"The SG Standard also boasts figured acrylic trapezoid inlays along its
rosewood fingerboard."

Its as if the person who made this was
looking for the worst place to put a control plate.
