I thing it MIGHT look better without the huge ugly control plates and the stupid weird electronic tuning thing they keep trying to market.

I love the way the most constructive comments seem to come from new members. The older members can only seem to come up with "IT'S SO UGLY... (WITTY COMMENTS HERE)".. Christ guys, I know this isn't a guitar forum any more, but we can do better, surely?
I think it's not all that bad, and innovation of any kind is GOOD, it might make our beloved Fender get off their behinds and start doing something new beyond their Squier division.
And seriously, when did we become so obsessed by the look of guitars? Considering the majority of the male posters on this board couldn't give a shit about their own personal images and the clothes they wear (or they're at least far cut off from the general consensus of "fashion"), I find it fascinating that this has been channelled into a huge distaste for the way guitars look. Everyone wants to be the Gok Wan of guitars. Yikes.

Dude I like fugly and bizarre or left-of-centre guitars, as do many here...but ones that do with fugly with style float my boat. You know like the equivelent of a dude who aint the best looking but he's got something unique and quirky as apposed the Dusk Tiger which is the guitar equivelent of the fugly social inept dork who thinks that by wearing a leather jacket and buying a flash car and saying 'chicks' will get him some...er chicks. It doesn't because he isn't convincing or for real. Fuckit this analogy sounded way better in my head - just pretend I said really profound stuff and you thought I was a total god and that.
It doesn't look cool to me according to my own criteria for coolness....I think that statement stands for most naysayers here and to be fair I reserve the right to make a snarky comment about it. Dusk-Tiger = FAIL. My boss at work loves it but he takes Metal really seriously.

I actually kinda like the way it looks; I just don't have a single use for anything it does beyond being a guitar. I don't think 99% of players would, either.

yea, I think it looks fine except the things mr. ripley pointed out, stupid shaped pickguard and dumbass robot tuners.
and of course we care about how guitars look. over half the post in the knowledge part of the forum are basically, "hey, look at this; crap/not crap?" followed up by a flurry of argument about wether that color pickguard does in fact go with that color body and/or neck.
The knob function is ass. The same knob controls the tuners and the tone modeling. When you pull up on it, the output is muted and it goes into tuning mode. Once it's done tuning it automatically shifts to modeling. Imagine how much this will fuck people up if they want to shift from an analog tone to a modeled tone on-the-fly. It can't be done! Furthermore, the knob position determines the alternate tuning. A few seconds of confusion if you try to switch tones during a song, and your guitar ends up in a completely different tuning.
WHY THE FUCK CAN'T THEY BE SEPARATE KNOBS!!!!!?!??!?!?!?!?!

Give your soul to the gods of modeling and ugly guitars!
Look at the Tiger on Gibson's website. He looks pissed because they attached his name to such an ugly guitar. That is some bad photo-shopping on that feline.
Only 2 hours left.

EVERY BIT OF MARKETING HYPE IS THAT THIS GUITAR IS "INTUITIVE." HOW THE FUCK IS IT INTUITIVE TO HAVE 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS ON THE SAME KNOB!?!?!?!
Let's say you're playing normally and you want to switch to a preset tone. This is the bare minimum of steps required:
1. Stop playing and mute the strings.
2. Pull up on the MASTER CONTROL KNOB. The guitar is now in "tuning mode" and muted.
3. Look at the face of the knob (where the display is) and rotate it to select your tuning, which will probably be standard or whatever tuning you're already in, since all you wanted to do was change the tone.
4. Strum the open strings and allow 20 seconds for the guitar to tune itself.
5. Once it's in tune (there's a visual indication, but it's very small and cryptic) the signal will be sent to the amp again.
6. Now look down at the face of the knob where the display is and rotate it to the desired tone.
7. Continue playing.
7 STEPS JUST TO SWITCH TO A MODELED TONE, INCLUDING GRATUITOUS RE-TUNING.
