not sure how i missed this thread, considering i am such a boisterous fan of strapping things on.
i have one exactly like this, except it's made by someone else, and cost 5 dollars brand new. love it. very comfy.
actually i think that's pretty close to what i paid for that one. some closeout ebay store thing where i should've bought like 3 or 4 additional ones.

Any black strap that looks like a seatbelt, they make me feel safe.

those vintage fender ones that look like a belt. or the modern fender ones with the logo. both because i got them with guitars, i'll use anything really, if i had a heavy guitar like a les paul i'd probably want something more substantial

I would quite like an Souldier Owl strap but they don't sell them here... :(

Any US peeps seen these in their local guitar shop ? could you pick one up for me and post it over ?

Here's a cool vid, featuring a jag-stang !!

I have that fender tweed one, and I despise it. It looks shite with CAR, and I just find it not comfortable at all. It stretches when you but it on and feels cheap and thin. I've been using my seatbelt-material gibby strap for years with dunlop locks.

I use:
Original Fender thin-with-pad strap for original 1973 Strat
Levy Jimi Hendrix signature nylon strap (Christmas present 2008) with 2008 Strat
Image
Fat, light tan tooled leather strap (birthday present, 197x) with most other guitars.
Cheap (£2) Chinese nylon strap with the mandolin/acoustic guitar

I like the Levy nylon straps, the leather ends are hard to get on and off and make straplocks fairly redundant.

a few couch straps for me. I don't like leather straps and I hate those cheap webbing ones. I think the vinyl is a nice 'inbetween' strap.

suede straps look nice, but because they're not smooth like leather straps they stick to your shoulder so the guitar stays in position and the neck doesn't 'drop' when you reach for something when you're not playing (mic, pedals etc) so that's a bit irritating when the neck is in your way.
Sounds like a god send for SG players!!

Fuck this. If your strap is already ripped to fuck, how do you know when it's about to give? You must own cheap guitars.

Nah they is fake, mum thought she was being cute as my Tele is beat (started off as a 'light relic'/almost transparent finish).
It's kind of liked the ripped jeans or the boxers-attached-to-pants-thing that have been kind of "added" to it.
Little annoying when adjusting and not aesthetically pleasing but still very sturdy and comfortable straps.

EDIT: And you say 'cheap guitars' as if it's a bad thing?

Nice and heavy, you know it's there and it's nice and strong. (well, not that heavy)

I only use my union jack leather strap by lm. I never had a more comfy one.
I hate that they are discontinued now!
