Was your dad Jan Ceulemans? The great Belgium footballer from the 1982 world cup?

You might be surprised to realise how little gain you need in "The Real World." What sounds awesome and perfect at bedroom levels often doesn't work with a band or with other people filling space. It might be an idea to roll off some the gain when jamming. Generally speaking, I've found that more mids and less gain helps to translate a bedroom sound to a stage sound.

fuck, after reading back through that, the first thing i noticed was i typed "a bunch" twice within two sentences. how low can a faux-punk get?

i actually have my peavey set to about B-6, M-4, T-8 or so. i'll have to double check that. i actually have a room i'm soundproofing, and mic'ing, so what my amp is at, is generally an all around good eq for jamming, and playing my tunes. i've just dipped into the 'punk' thing, and don't live the lifestyle, really listen to the music, or have any gravity of the scene, etc.

i didn't mean i wouldn't change my amp eq, i just stated i didn't want to fuck with it 'a bunch' because it took me several years to get everything the way i wanted. the XXX (which i'll have to fucking demo, because it appears no one knows what it is?) has 3 channels (clean, crunch, and ULTRA! - which i don't use - EDIT: oh fuck, maybe i need to use this channel?), and never really used the crunch tone until i got my footswitch (a whole otha story altogetha).

when i started using the 'crunch' i noticed my levels were fucked going between the clean and crunch. i've only recently gotten that fingered out, and my problem seems to be lack of true bonding with my amp. the thing is versatile as shit, and i have the attention span of a goldfish. * HUH? WASSAT? *

the only amp i keep for 'bedroom' levels is my pathfinder, which i have all dialed in. funny, i don't even have my own bedroom anymore :(.

i can't stress enough how important it was to me that i make this thread. and you all have badgered it to the point where i know now that i just need to spend several days fucking with the amp. i'm gonna have a go with no pedals, and see what i can scrounge up.

i nominate the Peavey T-15 as the official punk rock guitar of SSDotOrg. REAL punks can't afford Fender guitars.

i'm a punk that chimed in, didn't get a response so i'll go into more detail.
i just use my amp, turn up the mids, lowish gain, ample bass, lots of treble.
now if i'm rocking my acoustic 260 bass amp w/o gain, i use my big muff, and my jaguar with the strangle switch on(you own a jaguar carl which is why i say this).
i use this for every gig i've played, and it's a decent punk sound, i guess.
basically you just have to experiment with your amp.
try a deltalab rd1 rock distortion, or a big muff pi nyc.
all you'll need for it.

as my name is rosez, no. lol he was a goal keeper, beveren, rwdm, standard etc. but yeah in the 80's, i remember some holidays sitting in michel preud'homme's neck and geert de vlieger, they were friends, goal keepers are always the black sheep in soccer often though. in the 90's he got an offer to move to colombia (bogota) for a team, even went there to check out the house, then my mum changed her mind and we didn't do it. haha ...thank fuck.

oh fuck, lol there's pics of him here:

Thank fuck indeed. South American football is proper mental. You'd be living in a house made out of cocaine, and instead of guitars, you'd play cocaine isntead, and instead of music, cocaine would be your main hobby. That, and rioting.

No, they all use Gibsons instead
I've played and still play with a lot of Punk bands and its quite shocking how many of them have Les Pauls and SGs, even 16 year old 'Punks'. Its funny tbh, gone are the days of scraping through with a Hondo II from the local cash traders but playing with enough conviction and passion that the guitar is irrelevant anyway.

What is a REAL Punk anyway? This has always been a lolworthy debate even in my local circles.
