I'm buying this, i've been wanting to do that for a long time!
I'm sold, gotta pick one of those up.

should drag myself to the nearest guitarshop (it's a big shop, i hate it, stupid personnel) because they have that big muff tone wicker thing, i wanna try it, priced 79 eur cheaper than thomann, and i'll take my own guitar because otherwise i'll be stuck having to choose between the only two lefty guitars there, a squier strat and..a squier strat..probably lol

You know, my secret destroyer is probably my least used pedal... but what it does no other pedal can do. I'm not sure it'll ever be off my board now that I've had it on there. Even if I hardly use it.
Once I get a bass, I may move it over to the bass board though.

i merely asked becuz of the palm-muting problem. like if that wasn't the problem would it stay on the board. becuz, ostensibly, the problem is the palm-muting, not that TGD is out-there, or "unusable."
w/ re: to yr TGD/Secret Destroyer point. i mean they're not for everybody. gotta be thinking outside-of-the-boxxx w/ those. they do sound the most "normal" on bass so that would be a good move. Shiva & Eau Claire Thunder definitely better fits for tonefreak guitarists, married dudes, accountants & Lawrence Welk.

boss hm-2 and fz-2 are really good for Electric Wizard and Boris.
TP is the brightest and loudest fuzz I've ever had. It would make any other pedal sound tiny in comparison no matter what. Its pro is its con.

TGD has been on my board for over two years, it's not going anywhere,
i used it lots (actually most of the time when i want 'dirty') but as stewart said it's demanding and it's a very specific sound, i would like to have an option where i can palm mute and not have the extra sounds and a bit more distortion-ish sounding. maybe the blue box will go, it's constantly on and off my board.
by the way less cunning, if you check the link below you would realize how essential the sound of tgd is for MCS, i can't do without it.

another one to try out... that Bass Big Muff. I think it's supposed to be the same as a green muff?

yeah but it's not so much the bass thing, with the usual 'modern' big muff i think it's a lack of mids thing, so you lack bite so it just sounds like a bunch of fuzzed hiss with other instruments in the mix.
i've been looking at this pedal called musket, it's similar to a big muff but more controls, it sounds a bit tame but i want to try and boost it see how it responds to that

but so broke
going to test it at crush the button but they don't have it in stock

I think the MI Audio Crunch Box has fantastic musical feedback - I believe chisa was selling one in Classifieds, or trading one anyway.

It really does, very easy to control.

it's not fuzzy but i like the way it sounds, lots of clarity and the feedbacking is nice indeed from what i can tell from shitty youtube sound quality.

i really do like the sound of that, i almost responded to your post in the classifieds, torn between fuzzy distortion or something like a crunchbox, i think i really do miss the sound of a big muff, the chance of running into an affordable triangle muff is zero, the new one with tone wicker is nice but with this crunchbox i love how you have that bass 'whoom' when you palm mute/chuuugggga etc. really nice. it keeps definition yet sounds 'big' too with lots of bass. is there a humbucker in the guitar or single coils ?
after cranking my amp earlier on with saltboost and gain wide open i loved how it sounded but kept thinking maybe the stock pickups in my stang are also in the way of getting a particular sound i have in my head. ...all this....sounds fucking pricey. i'd rather not think about it too much.

I've built a lot of designs in the Overdrive/Distortion camp and the ones that have immediately grabbed me by the balls are:
Crunch Box
DLS
Box Of Rock
OCD
they all have their own charms.

In my experience this is always the funnest way to get that "end of the world" thing going on. Grin inducing.

Matt of Stomp Under Foot makes all sorts of Muffs for a great price, i'm not sure how the exchange rate/shipping goes for you though.
My favourite is the Violet Ram's Head and the Triangle Muff. http://stompunderfoot.com/MUFFS.html
worth a look for sure

yes! stomp under foot, on the website of crush the button : crush the button they have it but not the muffs, i don't like screaming panda.
ocd and box of rock are so pricey, you're right, pushing your amp with a good booster makes me laugh it's so simple and good and you'll never get it without a mic'd amp so for silent recording...................you're fucked. haaha.

i wanna say to mike or aen hey ! build me a fuzz that sounds like akuma no uta and/or funeralopolis, now ! i don't know which sound i like more.. i hate sounding like something else but it's just too perfect, musical feedback, lots of it, sustain, definition, hairyness, bassyness, mids...it's got it all. i am obsessed with this sound.
