that's what i'm thinking.
Yeah you can see where it gets fatter in the cutaway where the contours aren't cut as deep.
I've seen a post on some forum or another (gibson I think) where a dude took the paint off the side of the maple cap on his to create faux binding. It looked pretty decent.
I wonder if we will we ever really see them? Omar at MLPF posted this:
"OK...
I want one...
BUT, Can I get one?
I called GC and my regular salesman told me that they WILL NOT get any of those guitars. His Gibson rep told him also that they do not have enough to go around and they are not ready for building (due to the flood)...
Sweetwater sales engineer told me similar... although they are accepting orders, they do not think they'll be able to get enough to fulfill orders... and they may get them late 2010, IF they even get them... again, due to the flood.
My question is:
WHY IN THE WORLD would Gibson start a campaign on a guitar that IT IS NOT GOING TO BE AVAILABLE???? or are my GC and Sweetwater guys way off and misinformed? and I should place an order regardless?
I ordered one at Musicians Friend yesterday and I got a backorder notice today
"Thank you for your recent order #S0264****
We are temporarily out of stock on the item(s) noted below, but have more on order with the manufacturer. We will ship them to you as soon as we receive them. We sincerely appreciate your patience.
Wow, that's beautiful. Honeyburst is by far my favorite color for LPs, and the P90s just give it extra class. Probably wouldn't buy one though...it's still just another LP in my eyes.
Gibson knows what they are doing. At least right now.....it's really going to be funny looking back to this time when Gibson released a guitar of the week for like 3 years in a row and kept pushing out random limited runs here and there as well....it's going to be near impossible to keep track of it all.
