Fender Coronado pics
Moderated By: mods
It varies massively. There are a few different models
1 pickup 6 string
2 pickup 6 string
4 string bass
2 pickup 12 string
The prices on each vary depending on colour and condition. As always, custom colours cost more.
For the 6 string guitar models you can be looking at $600-1700 or around that. Some colours (black being one) are extremely rare.

Shabba.
Hi everyone, first time post here. I've owned a Coronado II for a few years but have only recently been able to find any sizeable discussion about them on the internet, and this thread has been very interesting and informative. These guitars are lovely. Here is mine in humble understated black (!), with two different tailpieces, the vibrato unit and the non-vibrato, both of which I bought as part of the guitar, though one of them would probably be non-original (from looking at the pics in this thread I would assume the non-vibrato tailpiece is non-original). I would love to hear more about these great guitars (along with short scale ones which I dig too!)

understated, perhaps, but pretty damn rare and extremely cool. the non-vibrato tailpiece looks like it's from a coronado I. d'you have any internal shots of the vibrato, just out of interest?litenkix wrote:Here is mine in humble understated black (!)

or just enter coronado in the search function, there's loads of them.
Thanks for the compliments guys. I like it very much in black, though to me it probably strays a bit too much over into the Gibson camp, especially with the vibrato tailpiece it seems like a Fender take on a Gibson 355. Colours like LPB and Candy Red etc are awesome because they scream Fender. I've stumbled across a couple of pics of one Coronado that has a plain headstock - it's pure Fender and if I were to swap my Coronado for any other, it would be this one (see pics). Apparently there were options for gold hardware and also maple neck, so it'd be awesome to even see a picture of what they look like.

stewart - I wonder why the black Coros are rare. Perhaps with the intro of colour television the mindset of people was that if you could have an instrument in colour, why settle for plain black??
nick - I don't think I'd be selling it any time soon. It's my only guitar at the moment and I don't really have the time or energy to look for a replacement right now, sorry!
taylornutt - The white binding is cool, I wonder what checkerd binding would look on black??

No worries man, the last thing I need right now is more guitars, and I wouldn't make a deal with a total stranger for that kind of money (no offense)....just throwing it out there that I've been looking for a Coronado in that color for some time, and if you stick around shortscale and ever decided to let it go I'd give you a good price for it.
Like I said, I completely realize that post was probably too forward, especially in response to someone's first post. I'm trying as hard as I can not to sound like Francis from Pee Wee's Big Adventure

I was a bit concerned about being able to afford gas expenses back to Oklahoma at that point. If I ran across that today id hand the clerk my credit card and get used to the grin that would forever be on my face.
I'd love one just like that some day. White on red. Not that I would turn down one of any colour so long as the price fit.

i think all the custom colours are fairly rare, but some more than others. i think CAR and LPB were always popular choices.litenkix wrote:stewart - I wonder why the black Coros are rare.
