Either tubes or electrical disruption , Bro . Just because he states it doesn't mean it's not the tubes . 2 big things that make a hum : Tubes or the amp is too fucking close to a power source . Simple stuff that tends to get overlooked and people go bonkers and start buying stuff thinking they have a problem . Tube amps are pretty simple creatures . Could even be dust somewhere . Even cleaner getting into something that's not supposed to be sprayed . A bad pot . Simple stuff that are cheap or even free fixes .


If I were Mr. Weeper I'd take that $$$ he was looking to buy an amp with and give it to a good repair shop . Scrap the whole Orange thing . If he likes the Peave"y" he should stick with it . But check all the basic preschool stuff first before dumping an ass load of money on another amp if he doesn't have to .
