Wide Range Humbuckers - the proper ones

I'm guessing the pickups must be pretty dark, if they are usually used with 1 meg pots? Wikipedia says they are pretty clear pickups. Those lollar reissues are extremely expensive! Theyre are plenty of cheaper clear sounding humbuckers available.

I like my Creamery pickups. I have a set of custom JM pickups and some humbuckers which I believe are based on the WRHB but are slightly different.

Some of Telenator's magic mojo pickups are even pricier! Plus, he constantly refers to himself in the third person. I'm not sure which is worse.
