I think the pickup covers and the switches are made out of two different kinds of plastic that's why they age differently. for example here is this quote from here....

My bronco which is '67 has f tuners and when i was after one to replace a broken peg i was told mustangs, strats and broncos all used them at that point so it must be '66/'67 approx they started fitting them?'

im going to this place up in Lewiston NY. my workers got me a gift cert. for christmas for this place.
i called at 4 and got a recorded message saying "hi we are open tuesday - saturday 10-5:30, please call back during those hours" and it doesn't let you leave a message.
