kurt choice was Seymour duncan JB bridge and at neck Texas , fender send a shitty crappy generic bucker , neck was should be an Fender Texas Special at neck , comes whit an 60´s stratocaster generic copy
Only the production JS's have that stuff, because it streamlined production. Kurt's custom shop JS was alder and had a copy of his '69 compstang's neck... and yet he still preferred his basswood, generic Mustang RIs to it.
And Kurt definitely never asked for a Texas Special, or even a JB, in the Jag-Stang. He wanted it to have the compstang's compliment of hotrail + mustang neck pickup, but Fender didn't want to give him that because it led to a massive discrepancy between the bridge and neck (hotrails are high-output, Mustang pickups are not), and fender likely didn't have the rights to use Duncans so they used a DiMarzio instead, in place of which Earnie did an JB in an attempt to make Kurt's JS more like his Mustangs/Jaguar (his Jaguar also got a JB in place of it's DiMarzio for the In Utero tour).

I love how Fender tells the artist what he's gonna get, not want

funny how Cort made in korea packup guitars whit duncans premium , Alder , Mahogany at entire streamline whit prices much better than fender ones. http://www.cortguitars.com/
and cort aint cheapo shit , thier guitars is pretty well finished and durable i have friends using cort´s have year´s , never complained about nothing.
and it´s is made in korea.
i belive paul, That is what we call mercenary prices at low quality stuff , and fender love do it
where we can cut for win each cent from the kurt fans will bought that shit ? ahh pickups too expensive ? send generics ? hardware too expensive put Chinese and goes like that.

My '96 modded with a set of Lace sensors then the bridge pickup died so i stuck the original neck pickup in there. It doesn't get played much anymore, mustang tremolos and me don't get on so i stick to my Jags. Great guitar though, absolutely love the feel of it.

wow, i really love the look of that with two single coils instead of that big ass HAMBACKER in the bridge.

Absolutely lovely. Did you have a custom pickguard made for it? What kind of Lace Sensors do you have in it? I traded for a CAR Comp-stang RI and it has a Lace Sensor Red in the bridge. Fantastic pickup.
You can always send me your Jag-stang and I can look after it for you.

I had an emerald in the bridge and a silver in the neck. Always like to have my bridge pickup lower output than the neck for whatever reason.
The switches aren't stock either, front one acts as a pickup selector and the other allows series/parallel/capacitor (my rubbish attempt at a jaguar style thin switch... didn't work) i played it earlier today and forgot how huge it sounds in series!
