Good stuff Mike, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it! Certainly looks like a neat bit of kit.

Only had a bit of a play last night, but Amy is up in Edinburgh now for 4 days so I'll have plenty of time this weekend to test driver this.

First thoughts:
- Really easy to use
- the stuff I messed with - RAT, various other distortions, step filters etc - all sound mint
- PLENTY of volume
- This thing can run like 4 effects at once and noise reduction or something. Amazeballs
- It looks liek a fucking Gameboy. This is a good thing.

I think mine was just delivered at home.

Still think I might have made a slight mistake in ordering this and not waiting for the 100BT. But I'm sure that will all be dispelled when I can remove half my pedalboard and replace it all with this.

The new Zoom stuff is amazing, I sold off most of my pedals - apart form my MBM Blackstone clone and Fredric fuzz - and don't regret anything. The only thing I don't like about the G3 I have is that the pitch shift effects aren't thaat good. Octave up on it's own works but is a little out of tune, but it's way way better than the POG model it does. For the £80 I paid on ebay though it is an absolute steal.

Also check out running the booster into the fuzz face model, that's my favourite overdrive/distortion that the pedal does.

O rly? Well, maybe I'm not that bothered about the 100BT then.

I wouldn't be bothered, it's definitely not worth paying the difference for the pitch shift models considering they're the pedal's weakest point.

Do these things work as an audio interface too? That is one of my favourite things about the G3.

It has a USB but I haven't read anything about it being used as an interface, just as a way of upgrading the software, possibly editing the models?

I think it's just a firmware upgrade port. If it also worked as an Audio interface that would be crazygood, but I already have one of those anyways.

I've read a couple of reviews that say it cannot be used as an interface.

Looking into the G3 it also has 40 second looper and drum machine. That would be very useful to me.

Mucked about more with this last night. Really cool.

For example the Amp Models, you can not only adjust a bunch of params for the amp itself (gain, tube saturation, volume, treb, mid, bass, presence) but you can switch the cab you're going through and then tell the Zoom if you're feeding into:

- Line
- Combo Front
- Stack Front
- Combo PowerAmp
- Stack PowerAmp

so it can tailor the EQ properly. For example Line into an amp is going to sound shrill. Sounds great into a line input though, really clever.

I've been very impressed with a bunch of the models, but barely scratched the surface so far.

Sounds ace. This pedal might have just made it onto my Christmas list.

Well since you're in China (the home of all evil apparently) they'll presumably be found in your local Toys R Us equivalent.

Mine is on it's way, can't wait! Glad I didn't go for the m5 route now

Haha that's what I'm hoping.

What do you reckon, Mike? Are you likely to gig it, and if so what power will you use?

I'm as likely to gig it as play a gig so that's a yup. Really easy to make an change presets - it's a real winner in my mind.

Yet to use it with the band as it's been made busy for all of us recently - soon though!

Will it run on rechargeable AAs?

I believe so - you can even tell it what type the aa's are

I daisy chain it off my normal supply btw
